Tracking down these rods means diving deep into Caustic Hallow’s quests, rituals, and event mechanics that are as tricky as they are rewarding.
Getting all six rods can take some time because several quests involve rare fish, mutated items, and hidden event mechanics. This guide explains how to unlock the Boglin Branch, Eldritch, Webweaver, Doomsekkar, Dutchman’s Rod, and Omniscient Spinecaster, including their stats and passive abilities.
The six special rods available in FischFright 3 each have distinct requirements. The Boglin Branch is tied directly to the Youngster Goblin near Beatrix’s Cauldron in Caustic Hallow. Starting this quest grants you several tasks: you’ll need to complete multiple Goblin Challenges at Normal difficulty or above, and hunt rare Boglin items that drop inconsistently from those challenges.
The quest involves five main objectives:
- Complete three Goblin Challenges at Normal difficulty or higher. Beware—green-outlined Easy Goblins don’t count here.
- Turn in 10 Witch’s Ingredients to the Youngster Goblin, which you can farm separately or alongside other tasks.
- Secure one Boglin Skull, one Boglin Twig (sometimes labeled as Boglin Fang), and one set of Boglin Wraps. These drops are notably rare, so perseverance is key.

-
Give the Youngster Goblin 10 Witch’s Ingredients of any type.
-
Obtain one Boglin Skull.
-
Obtain one Boglin Twig. Some quest text may refer to this item as a Boglin Fang.
-
Obtain one set of Boglin Wraps.
Once the initial challenge count is met, farming easier Goblin Challenges will suffice for the remaining item drops. The rare nature of the Boglin parts means it could take multiple attempts, so monitoring your quest tracker helps maintain clear progress.
Keep in mind that the Boglin Skull, Boglin Twig, and Boglin Wraps are rare drops. You may need to complete several rounds before obtaining all three items, so keep farming until the quest tracker confirms your progress.
Stat-wise, the Boglin Branch shines with a solid 180% Luck and respectable 80% Lure Speed, all backed by a max weight capacity of 550,000 kg, which is ample for hefty catches during the event. It offers 0.05 Control and 20% Resilience.
The Boglin Branch offers a strong Luck stat and decent Lure Speed, making it a useful option for players who want to catch rare fish during the event. Its maximum weight capacity is also high enough to handle fish weighing up to 550,000 kg.

The Eldritch Rod focuses on a different kind of progression, revolving around Beatrix the Witch’s cauldron. This rod offers excellent synergy if you’re also gathering Witch’s Ingredients for the Boglin Branch quest, so multitasking here is a smart move.
By interacting with Beatrix’s cauldron in Caustic Hallow, you can offer single or batch ingredients to increase your Hex Energy. Keep an eye on your Hex Energy level until you hit 11, which lets you claim the Eldritch Rod, alongside other spook-themed rewards like Witch’s Pot furniture and the Coffin Bobber.
Continue offering ingredients until you reach Hex Energy Level 11. Once you meet the requirement, claim the Eldritch Rod from Beatrix. You will also receive other rewards as you progress through the Hex Energy levels, including Witch’s Pot furniture, the Coffin Bobber, and Black Licorice.

This rod features stellar stats — 230% Luck and 90% Lure Speed — paired with infinite max weight capacity, letting you catch any size fish without restriction. Control sits at 0.05 with 15% Resilience, rounding out a very strong choice for event fishing.

For the Webweaver Rod , you’ll need to focus on Webby Winston, hiding out in the Webridden Cavern beneath Caustic Hallow. The series involves three quests that can be tackled at once, involving trick-or-treating, fishing, and mutation-targeted catches.
The tasks are:
- Trick-or-treat at 16 unique houses with your Candy Bucket equipped. Visiting the same location repeatedly won’t count.
- Catch 15 Cobweb Cod in the eerie, greenish water of the cavern.
- Catch 10 fish mutated with the Webbed effect inside the cavern.
-
Trick-or-treat at 16 different houses while equipping the Candy Bucket. Visiting the same house multiple times will not count.
-
Catch 15 Cobweb Cod in the cavern’s green water.

Catch 10 fish with the Webbed mutation inside Webridden Cavern.
Completing all three nets you 1,000 Treats from Webby. Spending those Treats right back to purchase the Webweaver Rod means no extra cost, provided you hold onto the rewards instead of splitting them on other goodies.
This means you can obtain the rod without spending extra Treats from your existing balance, provided you save the entire quest reward. Make sure you do not spend those Treats on other event items before buying the rod.
Webweaver Rod Stats and Passive
The Webweaver Rod boosts your fishing with 250% Luck and a swift 125% Lure Speed, with a Control of 0.03 and 10% Resilience. Its standout feature is the Spider Web passive, where spiders spawn roughly every 10 seconds during fishing and apply the Webbed mutation to nearby fish — a major plus for mutation hunters. This rod also has infinite max weight.

The Doomsekkar Rod lays its claim through a more haunting route. Near the Halloween graveyard by Webridden Cavern, Doomsekkar’s questline pushes you to fish at Frightful Pools, nail perfect catches, and engage in a ghostly spirit capture.
The objectives are straightforward but time-consuming:
- Catch 100 fish from the Frightful Pools, glowing temporary spots that salmon during the event. If needed, buy a Frightful Pool Totem (3,000 Treats) from the Flying Dutchman to spawn one on demand.
- Land 50 Perfect Catches throughout your fishing sessions.
- Capture a haunted spirit from the right haunted house in Caustic Hallow, triggered via server events.
-

-
Capture the haunted spirit inside the correct haunted house in Caustic Hallow.
The first two objectives can be completed at the same time, so keep fishing in Frightful Pools while aiming for Perfect Catches to make progress toward both requirements.
How to Capture the Haunted Spirit
When a server alert flags a haunted house’s appearance, look for the house with a glowing green number — your clue for where to find the spirit. Equip your Candy Bucket, knock, and interact to start the capture. Lock your cursor on the ghost until the process completes, after which you’ll be whisked away to a special zone. Use your Magic Mirror to return when done.
Follow these steps to capture the spirit:
-
Equip your Candy Bucket before approaching the haunted house.
-
Knock on the door and select either available dialogue option.
-
Keep your cursor on the ghost until the capture process is complete.
-
Once the spirit is captured, you will be teleported to a special area.
-
Use your Magic Mirror to leave the area and return to the main game.
Completing these unlocks awards you the Doomsekkar Rod plus a hefty 3,000 Treats bonus from Doomsekkar himself.
Doomsekkar Rod Stats and Passive
The rod’s stats push 275% Luck and 100% Lure Speed, with a Control of 0.1, but it sports a bizarre -666% Resilience — a genuine handicap that makes it riskier on tough fish. It gives infinite max kg capacity and also triggers a Pumpkin Bombs passive: tiny pumpkin bombs appear during fishing. When fish approach these bombs, your Progress Speed speeds up, and it can inflict the Doomsekkar mutation on fish, adding a tactical dynamic.
