At EVO Japan 2026, Type-Moon and French Bread unveiled Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina, building anticipation as this next entry in the franchise looks to sharpen combat and add new faces. Following up on 2021's Melty Blood: Type Lumina, this expanded port aims to refine battle mechanics while broadening the fighting roster.

Details remain scarce on the full extent of roster changes, but the teaser clearly spotlights Len, hinting she will be a playable character. This is significant for fans eager to see the roster stretch beyond its previous limits.

Len originally came onto the scene in 2001's Kagetsu Tohya, a fan disc sequel to Tsukihime, and made her Melty Blood debut in 2004's Melty Blood Re-ACT. Her inclusion signals a nod to longtime fans as well as a broader character pool.

Featuring Len suggests Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina is moving beyond its 2021 incarnation, which focused solely on characters from the Tsukihime Remake. This expansion will likely diversify gameplay and story opportunities.

The original Type Lumina roster tied directly into the Tsukihime Remake cast exclusively, intentionally limiting character selection. Even after adding figures like Mash Kyrielight, classics like Len and Satsuki were absent — a gap this new installment looks set to fill.

Beyond character additions, the game's tagline, “A tale of conflict stirs once again within a dream,” echoes the themes of Kagetsu Tohya. This might hint at a narrative centered on that story, although it's too early to confirm any concrete plot direction.

Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina is slated for release in 2027 across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam, promising to bring updated fighting action and a fresh character lineup to an eager fanbase.
