The intrigue of Sovereign Tower deepens in Act III, especially during the Moonvale quest. Among its branching narratives, the “How Cute” achievement stands out, rewarding players who navigate a heartfelt path of empathy with one of the key characters, Arron. It’s a rare moment that changes the usual rhythm of gameplay, emphasizing the importance of choices beyond combat.
Once done, you will get the reward as an achievement. I have created this step-by-step guide to get your hands on the “How Cute” achievement in Sovereign Tower. So follow the steps below carefully and decide whether Arron can keep the baby dragon or not.
Before diving into the Moonvale mission, ensure these prerequisites are met: Arron has not eaten the Dragon Heart Your character has an adequately high Empathy attribute to unlock the dialogue option You are currently in Act III You have access to the Moonvale Quest Arron’s status regarding the Dragon Heart is critical—if he’s already consumed it, his demeanor shifts towards aggression, closing off the chance for the kindness-based dialogue needed.
Before starting the Moonvale quest, make sure you meet these conditions:
- Arron has not eaten the Dragon Heart
- You have high Empathy for the required dialogue option
- You are in Act III
- You have access to the Moonvale Quest
The Dragon Heart requirement is important. Because if Arron has already eaten it, his behavior will change to aggressive, and the required kindness option will not appear.
If you have not recruited Arron yet, check our Sovereign Tower Knight Recruitment & Transformation Guide for his recruitment requirement and other transformations.
If Arron hasn't joined your party yet, you’ll want to check his recruitment details to prepare for this route. Arron’s recruitment and transformations significantly influence your options later—refer to the separate recruitment guide if needed.
The key moment arrives early in the third mission of Moonvale: the game presents you a choice that will define the achievement’s path. Here, your decision must favor the Empathy option rather than the alternative of killing the baby dragon. This choice isn’t just cosmetic; choosing Empathy kicks off a side quest that is essential for “How Cute.” Be sure to accept this quest to keep the achievement path intact.
At the beginning of the third Moonvale mission, the game will give you a choice related to the baby dragon.
You can either:
- Kill the baby dragon
- Choose the Empathy option
Make sure you choose the Empathy option for the “How Cute” achievement.
The Empathy choice will start a different quest. Accept that quest to stay on the achievement route.
Take Arron on the Quest
Bringing Arron along is non-negotiable for the success of this achievement. While he may express displeasure about your decision, his participation unlocks vital scenes needed to progress the story towards the desired outcome. Continue the quest with Arron at your side until it concludes.
Arron may dislike your decision, but take him anyway. His presence is required for the unique outcome that leads to the achievement.
Keep playing the quest normally until you reach the outcome.
Get the Dragon Scene With Arron
After completing the Moonvale quest on the Empathy path with Arron present, the game presents a touching scene: an audience with Arron where he asks permission to tame the baby dragon.
Granting this request is the final step to trigger the “How Cute” achievement.
During this scene, Arron will ask if he can tame the baby dragon.

Let him keep the baby dragon, and this will unlock the “How Cute” achievement.
The same event will also give a new perk to Arron.
Following this heartfelt scene, Arron gains the Dragon Knight perk, enhancing his effectiveness in quests. This perk mirrors the benefits of his Berserk ability but avoids Berserk’s penalties when quests lack combat, making it a versatile boon for your party.
Arron will also receive the Dragon Knight perk after completing this route.
Dragon Knight:
Small bonus on any quest, doubled if the quest involves combat.
The perk works somewhat like Arron’s Berserk perk, but it does not have the downside that Berserk has on quests without combat.
So the Dragon Knight perk will give Arron a useful bonus even when the quest does not involve fighting.
Important: Do Not Eat the Dragon Heart
The linchpin of this entire achievement is ensuring Arron never consumes the Dragon Heart. This ritual triggers a behavioral shift into aggression that shuts down the availability of empathetic dialogue and thus the entire achievement route.
If the Dragon Heart has already been consumed, corrective measures include rewinding time if your save system allows it, or restarting the route in New Game+. Without an earlier save, you might need to begin anew.
Always double-check Arron’s Dragon Heart status before entering Moonvale.
If Arron eats the Dragon Heart, he will become extremely aggressive. Once that happens, the required Empathy or kindness option may no longer appear.
If you have already performed the Dragon Heart ritual with Arron, you may need to:
- Rewind time, if you have that option
- Start the route again in New Game+
- Start a fresh game if you have no earlier save
Before starting the Moonvale route, check Arron’s Dragon Heart choice.
What About the Dragon Egg and Dragon Mount?
It’s worth noting the distinction between this achievement’s route and the dragon egg path. While the latter lets you secure a dragon mount by returning the egg to its mother, equipping Arron with that mount does not count towards unlocking “How Cute.” This achievement specifically depends on the Empathy route with Arron and taming the baby dragon together.
You can convince Moonvale to give you the egg and return it to the mother. That route will give you a dragon mount, but equipping Arron with the mount does not count toward “How Cute.”
For this achievement, follow the Empathy route with Arron instead.
There is also a practical difference between the rewards. The Dragon Knight reward is tied to Arron’s character progression, while the dragon mount comes from the separate egg outcome.
