Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy’s mobile release shook up the roster with interesting characters beyond the usual leads. One notably tricky pick is Krile from Final Fantasy V, who serves as a support character unlike any other in the game. Her gameplay demands a different mindset; you’ll need to protect her as she buffs and heals your team from behind the scenes, fundamentally changing how you approach matches.
What truly defines Krile’s playstyle is her ability to share Bravery by standing still and cheering, distributing her Bravery points evenly to both allies. This mechanic can trigger multiple Bravery Bursts for your team when timed correctly, making her an invaluable asset during intense team fights.
While sharing Bravery is powerful, remember that Krile becomes vulnerable when cheering — she can't move or attack. Securing a safe spot before initiating this skill is critical to avoid being picked off by opponents targeting her fragility.
The effectiveness of her Bravery sharing depends entirely on how much Bravery Krile currently holds. For instance, if she has 9,000 or more Bravery, she can distribute large chunks quickly — above 3,000 Bravery per few seconds. But if her Bravery is low, around 3,000 or less, the sharing process slows dramatically and yields only modest benefits.
Krile possesses four exclusive abilities obtained through the game’s gacha: two Ultra Rare (UR), one Super Rare (SR), and one Rare (R). These form the foundation of her supportive role, and securing them is key to unlocking her full potential.
Here’s a breakdown of Krile's abilities and their effects:
| Ability Name | Rarity | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Legend of the Deep Forest | UR | Continuously heals all allies up to 300% over 15 seconds |
| Seal Sacred Light | UR | Launches nearby foes into the air, dealing medium damage |
| Hopeful Cheer | SR | Increases all allies’ attack power moderately for 15 seconds |
| Nightingale | R | Restores 30% HP to all allies |
Unlike other characters who can muddle through without their full set of gacha abilities, Krile is highly dependent on at least her Rare and Super Rare abilities. Without Nightingale and Hopeful Cheer, her support role falls apart.
While her Legend of the Deep Forest healing ability is crucial for sustaining her team during critical moments, not everyone will pull this UR immediately. Here are some alternatives to provide backup support if you don’t have it yet:
- UR Ramza’s Cheer Up: Instantly grants an ally 80% of Krile’s Bravery.
- R Embolden: Boosts an ally with 50% of Krile’s Bravery.
- SR Heal: Restores 20% HP to all allies.
Since there’s a limited selection of support abilities in Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy, these substitutions aren’t perfect but keep Krile valuable in the lineup until you do unlock Legend of the Deep Forest.
Regarding her Seal Sacred Light UR attack, it’s more of a situational option rather than mandatory. It’s fine if you lack it because Krile’s main role isn’t direct offense. If you need alternative attacks for defense or crowd control, consider these:
- UR Ace Fire RF: One of the best non-character-specific attacks for fending off enemy players.
- SR Earth Breaker: Useful for knocking enemies back and clearing crystals.
- SR Thundaga: Minimal player damage but excels at crystal clearance.
It’s also smart to fill Krile’s extra ability slot with defensive skills to protect her delicate frame. If possible, equip Selphie’s UR Wall to absorb damage. Otherwise, any lower rarity barrier skill will help keep her alive longer against surprise attacks.
Krile’s Time Mage Job Medals are ideal since they reduce cooldowns for abilities like Legend of the Deep Forest. Although medals are random and grinding them is tough, prioritizing Time Mage medals greatly enhances her healing uptime.
- UR Ace Fire RF – Widely considered to be the best non-character specific attack in the game currently, excellent for if an enemy player attacks you
- SR Earth Breaker – Great for knocking away enemy players and defeating enemies as crystals
- SR Thundaga – Does little damage to players but is excellent for clearing crystals
Now, even if you have all of Krile’s gacha Abilities, you will be left with one extra slot for whatever you want. Because Krile is a support unit who can die very easily, I would recommend equipping Selphie’s UR Wall if you have it in order to cut down the amount of damage you’re taking.
If you do not have that UR Ability, you can substitute it with any lower rarity barrier skill. These will be a lifesaver if any enemy attempts to attack you in order to end your support.
While you shouldn’t worry too much about Krile’s Job Medals, as they are completely randomized and impossible to easily grind new ones, her best job is Time Mage, as these medals reduce the cooldown counter for Abilities, which will be tremendously helpful for her Legend of the Deep Forest, which takes a long time to recharge.
Playing as Krile demands a shift in mindset; she’s not your frontline brawler but a fragile anchor supporting teammates from the backline. Your goal is to keep allies alive with buffs and healing while safely purifying crystals and avoiding enemy aggression.
Right at match start, focus on clearing out enemies near your spawn crystal. Establish control here before transitioning to your core tasks of buffing and healing your team.
The timing of Legend of the Deep Forest is critical due to its cast animation. If you wait too long, your allies might fall before the heal kicks in. Use it proactively as soon as your team enters combat to avoid losing allies prematurely.
Save activating Hopeful Cheer to moments just after your team triggers Bravery Burst. Since Krile won’t typically deal damage to bosses herself, this buff is key to maximizing your team’s overall damage output.
When deciding between sharing Bravery or purifying crystals, consider your own and your allies' Bravery levels carefully. If Krile has around 3,000 Bravery and teammates have less than 9,000, purifying crystals yields better results than slow sharing.
Conversely, if both allies are near maximum Bravery or already in Burst mode, stop sharing Bravery and focus on building your own Bravery pool for the next cycle of buffs.
Finally, while your priority as Krile is team support, don’t neglect defending teammates when they engage bosses. Use your stun abilities or attacks like Ace’s UR or Thundaga to keep enemies off your DPS players and extend your team’s offensive window.
If both of your teammates have 9,999 Bravery or are currently in Burst, do not waste your time trying to share more. Simply stop and begin to build up your own Bravery so you can share it with your allies when they need it.
Finally, when your team is attacking the boss, it’s in Krile’s best interest to stop hanging back and go defend them. If the enemy team is trying to defeat your allies and force them out of their Burst state, then you should defend them. Krile’s UR is excellent at stunning enemies, but if you have Ace’s UR or Thundaga, you should be able to keep them away long enough.
