Falcom’s Trails series is renowned for its richly crafted worlds alive with unique NPCs and deep storylines. Side quests here are more than mere fetch tasks; they expand the world and offer tangible rewards like valuable items and BP to enhance your character’s abilities. The 2nd Chapter refines this by including all the original side quests plus fresh challenges that deepen the kingdom’s lore and let you interact with the world in meaningful ways.

Whether you’re jumping in for the first time or revisiting these lands, understanding the scope and details of every sidequest helps you make the most out of your journey. These quests also reveal hidden corners of the game’s story and environment that you might otherwise miss.

Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter packs dozens of side quests scattered across its chapters. Unlike the first, each sidequest is now clearly marked on your map, except for a unique quest in Chapter 8 that only reveals itself after initiating it, adding an element of surprise.

Every chapter contains its share of side quests, giving you plenty to do besides the main story. Pursue them at your own pace, but keep an eye on their expiration to avoid missing out.

Chapter 1 offers several engaging side quests that introduce you to the world’s systems and rewards.

Ingredient Inquiry task involves collecting and delivering monster drops to Orvid at Manolia Village’s inn.

  • Related Main Quest: The 'White Shadow'
  • Reward: 1000 Mira
  • Bonus Points (BP): 2 base, with potential +2 bonus BP
  • Timeframe: Long (expires at Chapter 1 end)

This quest requires you to bring Orvid ingredients that are notably not on his initial list. Gathering these extra monster parts completes the task.

  1. Monster Bone
  2. Monster Fang
  3. Monster Horn
  4. Monster Tender
  5. Monster Roe
  6. Monster Bird Egg

Completing the quest with at least three ingredients is enough to finish it, but delivering all six grants extra BP and valuable items like 10 Monster Powders and 10 Monster Eyes. Make sure to explore thoroughly to locate all drops.

Expect the Queen Viper to buff itself when at half health, increasing its attack speed and strength for two turns. Surviving that burst is critical; afterward, it becomes easier to finish it off with your crafts.
