The Adventures of Elliot Endings Guide - All Outcomes

The world of The Adventures of Elliot might appear straightforward at first, but it really opens up as you approach its conclusion. Players often find themselves suddenly thrust toward the final boss with little explanation of who this villain is or the deeper story at play. Understanding how to unlock the multiple endings is key to fully experiencing Elliot's journey—and the best endings often require more than just following quest markers.

All Endings in The Adventures of Elliot

The game features three distinct endings, each symbolized by a differently colored medal added to your save file after completion. The Bronze and Silver endings are accessible without blocking other outcomes, but the Gold Ending will lock you out of replaying the earlier ones. Because each ending also grants an achievement, it’s advisable to finish the Bronze and Silver endings before chasing Gold.

Below is the order and method to unlock each ending on your playthrough.

As Long as Any Hope Remains (Bronze Ending)

This is the game’s default, or 'bad,' ending and the easiest to reach. Simply follow the quest directions as they come, doing exactly what the game tells you without deviating to uncover hidden truths.

After clearing the Mount Phoenix dungeon during the Age of Reconstruction and triggering its cutscenes, head straight to the Northern Tower dungeon in the Age of Safekeeping. It’s a brief but challenging dungeon, filled with multiple boss fights along the way.

The last challenge here is the final boss: The Sorcerer. This fight is difficult, but with enough potions, it can be tackled without too much trouble. Defeating The Sorcerer at this point will lead you directly into the bronze ending sequence.

Completing the Bronze Ending adds a bronze medal to your save. If you want a shot at the other endings, save your clear data and reload right before this boss fight.

The Peace in Which We Walk (Silver Ending)

With the bad ending behind you, it’s time to explore more and aim for the silver, or normal, ending. To pull this off, you need to complete two critical tasks before facing The Sorcerer again:

  1. Obtain the Leytstaff
  2. Learn Elliot’s ultimate attack: Nomutota

Getting the Leytstaff comes first since it's a prerequisite for learning Nomutota. Here’s how to get it.

How to Obtain the Leytstaff

The Leytstaff is surprisingly easy to secure, but it requires some exploration. Each age on the map features the Water Ruins at the center, an area that normally blocks access due to your inability to dive underwater.

However, during the Age of Reconstruction, you can enter the Water Ruins dungeon. Inside, you’ll find a treasure chest that teaches you how to dive—an essential skill. Push through the dungeon’s depths to find a large red chest containing the Leytstaff, the game’s strongest sword.

Obtaining the Leytstaff is just the start. To maximize its power, we need to unlock Elliot’s ultimate sword move by tracking down the sages across time.

How to Learn Nomutota

Learning Elliot’s signature attack, Nomutota, requires visiting various ages and meeting with three special sages found in optional dungeons. Follow these steps carefully.

Age of Budding Sage

After the Northern Tower opens, make a detour to the town of Hiyotori in the Age of Budding. Watch the cutscenes here, then go to Lyudmila’s house.

Lyudmila will give you a bell that allows you to meet the sages. Back in town, after witnessing an argument, talk to the cat-loving NPC who will direct you toward the Grandtree.

The Grandtree is an optional dungeon located in the eastern area of Neverwither. Here you’ll find the cat sage on the first floor, though reaching her might require exploring multiple levels.

After meeting this first sage, it’s time to move on to the next:

Age of Reconstruction Sage

Head to Littlehope Village in the Age of Reconstruction, where a small series of cutscenes leads you into an endurance battle defending the town from monsters.

After surviving the attack, talk to the same cat-loving NPC. He will send you to the Mount Phoenix dungeon to find the cat sage waiting near the entrance.

Age of Magic Sage

The final sage is found in the Age of Magic. Travel to Weyzn, where you'll assist the townsfolk against rampaging Thaumata. This segment is unique as it features non-voiced story dialogue.

Once the threat is subdued, again speak with the cat-loving NPC, who points you to the Geared Ruins. Unlike previous sage dungeons, this one won’t unlock until you meet the Age of Budding Sage.

Explore the Geared Ruins thoroughly, defeat the final boss, and you’ll meet the last sage, who teaches Elliot Nomutota, completing his ultimate move learning quest.

How to Get The Peace in Which We Walk Ending

With Nomutota in hand, return to the Northern Tower dungeon in the Age of Safekeeping. Defeat the bosses once again and reach The Sorcerer.

This time, make sure to finish the fight using the Nomutota ultimate attack as the killing blow. Doing so unlocks the Silver ending and adds a silver medal to your save data.

The Silver ending offers a deeper glimpse into Elliot’s story but still leaves mysteries to uncover. You can reload your clear data to try for other endings after completing this one.

At the Thousand-Year Journey's End (Gold Ending)

The Gold ending is the best possible outcome and requires completing a special optional quest stretching across all four time periods. Start by revisiting Lyudmila’s house in the Age of Budding—she won’t be home, but instead you’ll be directed to the Dragonpillar dungeon.
