Scritchy Scratchy drops you into a surprisingly tense world that revolves around the humble scratch ticket. Starting out with dishwashing, you quickly face the thrill and risk of buying and scratching tickets. Getting a handle on which tickets to chase, how to manage your odds, and when to upgrade is key once you unlock new catalogues that crank up the difficulty and challenges.
This guide covers the main Scritchy Scratchy mechanics, like how everything works in this game, Prestige upgrades, all three endings, and strategies for the nine challenges.
Progression in Scritchy Scratchy begins with washing dishes for cash, but the real game unfolds as you start buying scratch tickets. Each ticket is a gamble; some will drain your wallet while others can set you up for bigger wins. Knowing the symbols to watch for, especially on tickets like Apple Tree which can yield negative returns, is vital to avoid losses and build your bankroll early.
You start the game by washing dishes. At level 1, you get $1 for washing a plate. But when you unlock the scratch ticket catalogue, you can purchase them and collect whatever rewards they give you.
Just like in real life, not every ticket will give you profit. Some tickets, such as Apple Tree, can give you negative money when you scratch certain symbols. So pay attention to the symbols instead of scratching every ticket from start to finish.

Making money at the start comes down to a cautious approach. Scratch only a small portion to check your symbols before fully committing. If you see a symbol that could cost you money, stop immediately and try a different ticket. Buying the Trash Can for $2 early lets you discard losing tickets, saving money and time. Don't dive into expensive tickets without maxing out your Scratch Luck first, which increases your chances of hitting valuable symbols.
- Scratch a small part of a ticket first to check its symbols.
- Stop scratching if you spot a symbol that could cost you money.
- Focus on tickets that give better rewards.
- Buy the Trash Can for $2 to throw away negative tickets.
- Upgrade your Scratch Luck before spending too much money on expensive tickets.
As you earn more, you unlock better tickets, upgrades, and gadgets. These help you earn money faster and reduce the amount of manual work.
The upgrade system revolves around three main stats that influence your ticket scratching efficiency and profitability. Scratch Luck enhances your odds of good symbols but caps depending on the ticket. Scratch Size speeds up how fast you can manually scratch tickets, and Coin lets you handle pricier scratch tickets later on. Prioritize upgrading Scratch Luck whenever you struggle with a ticket’s profitability—just keep an eye on its maximum effective cap.
The Upgrades menu has three main upgrades that improve your progress.
- Scratch Luck: Costs $200 and improves your chances of finding valuable symbols and reduces the chances of getting losing or neutral symbols. Each ticket has a maximum Luck level, so upgrading beyond its cap will not improve your odds on that ticket.
- Scratch Size: Costs $500 B and increases your manual scratching speed.
- Coin: Costs $500 T and improves your ability to scratch more expensive tickets.
Try to upgrade the Scratch Luck when you are struggling to make money from a new ticket. However, check the ticket’s Luck cap before spending too much on it.
Gadgets automate tedious parts of Scritchy Scratchy, making your life much smoother. The Scratch Bot handles automatic scratching, assisted by the Fan that feeds tickets into it. Mundo collects scratched tickets but needs the Picky Eater upgrade to avoid picking up losers. Other gadgets like the Trash Can (which also gains Mundo support), Sticky Mat for ticket control, and Egg Timer which amps up overall gadget speed, significantly optimize your runs.
Gadgets automate different parts of the game. Some scratch tickets, others buy or collect them, and a few provide special bonuses.
| Gadget | Cost or purpose |
|---|---|
| Trash Can | Costs $2 and lets you throw away losing tickets. Upgrading it allows Mundo to use it too. |
| Sticky Mat | Costs $50K. Keeps tickets placed on it away from the Fan and Scratch Bot. |
| Badge Collection | Costs $50M. Lets you collect points from achievements and spend them on cosmetics. |
| Scratch Bot | Scratches tickets automatically. You can upgrade its speed, capacity, and strength. |
| Fan | Feeds purchased tickets into the Scratch Bot. You must turn it on, and its battery eventually runs out. |
| Mundo | Collects scratched tickets. You can upgrade its speed and use JP to unlock Picky Eater, which makes Mundo throw away losing tickets. |
| Spell Book | Uses a charge to scratch a ticket or Super Jackpot instantly. It recharges over time, and you can improve its charging speed. |
| Subscription Bot | Automatically buys your selected tickets. Upgrading it increases its buying speed. |
| Egg Timer | Speeds up your other gadgets. You must recharge it manually, and upgrades improve its capacity, charge, and warp speed. |
| The Machine | Costs $1,000 to unlock after opening all four catalogues. It converts money into souls and increases the multiplier for claimed prizes. You need it to reach the endings. |
Upgrading the Scratch Bot, Fan, and Mundo first is a safe bet because they handle core automation. The Egg Timer can be a later luxury to increase your entire setup’s speed. Don’t forget to unlock the Picky Eater for Mundo—without it, the automated collection will rack up losses by picking losing tickets. The Sticky Mat is a useful tactical tool when you need to isolate certain tickets, especially during challenges with stricter rules.
The Scratch Bot, Fan, and Mundo are very helpful for automating normal gameplay. The Egg Timer can also help you later because it speeds up your entire setup.
Make sure to unlock Picky Eater before using Mundo for long runs. Without it, Mundo can collect losing tickets and cost you money.
The Sticky Mat also helps when you want to keep one ticket away from the automatic system. This is very useful in challenges where you need to control which tickets get scratched or merged.
Scritchy Scratchy’s four catalogues mark your advancement, each introducing tougher tickets and new mechanics. After completing a catalogue, you get a Final Chance ticket which ends the run if scratched. At this stage, you spend Jackpot Points (JP) on prestige upgrades that permanently enhance your next runs, making it easier to push further and earn bigger prizes.
The game has four catalogues. Each one introduces new tickets and helps you move toward the final stages.
First and Second Catalogues
When you finish the first catalogue, you receive a Final Chance ticket. When you scratch it, it kills you and ends the run.
You can then spend your JP on permanent Prestige upgrades. These upgrades carry over to your next run and make future progress easier.
The second catalogue ends with another Final Chance. You can also Prestige before reaching this point if you would rather spend your JP on permanent upgrades first.
Important: Jackpots and Super Jackpots award JP, but each ticket type only awards it once per run. You can earn JP from that same ticket type again in a new run. Higher-catalogue tickets give more JP.
The Machine and the Final Chance
Once you unlock the last catalogue, The Machine becomes available. It converts your money into souls, a resource essential for the final run. Preparing for the last stage means maxing your Scratch Luck to the highest useful level, stockpiling 200 to 250 souls, and keeping enough funds to buy a similar number of Final Chance tickets. These preparations are crucial because every claim of a Final Chance ticket costs a soul, and running out spells failure.
Before starting the final stage, prepare your setup:
- Upgrade Scratch Luck to the maximum useful level.
- Save at least 200–250 souls.
- Keep enough money to buy around 200–250 Final Chance tickets.
The Scratch Bot can scratch the Final Chance tickets, but Mundo cannot claim them safely. Each claim costs one soul until you win, so running out of souls can ruin your attempt.
Once you win the ticket, you have two choices.
After winning a Final Chance ticket, you stand at a crossroads. Claiming it yourself unveils the True Ending, while waiting 5 to 10 minutes without claiming lets the Evil Corporation take it, triggering the Alternative Ending. Both endings are mandatory for full completion, painting contrasting outcomes for your scratching saga.
You need both endings for 100% completion.

Scritchy Scratchy features three endings: the True Ending, unlocked by successfully claiming the final ticket; the Alternative Ending, triggered by letting the Evil Corporation claim it after waiting; and a Secret Ending called No More Gambling . Reaching the secret ending is a challenge on its own, requiring completion of every in-game challenge and additional criteria met in a new run.
Scritchy Scratchy has three endings.
1. True Ending
Unlock all four catalogues and use The Machine to create enough souls. Reach the final Final Chance with a strong Scratch Luck level and plenty of money.
When you win the Final Chance ticket, claim it yourself to trigger the True Ending.
2. Alternative Ending
Follow the same steps as the True Ending. After winning the Final Chance ticket, do not claim it.
Wait approximately 5–10 minutes for the Evil Corporation to take it. This will trigger the alternative ending.
3. Secret Ending – No More Gambling
Achieving the No More Gambling ending demands finishing all nine challenges, then triggering a secret catalogue through progress and money requirements. You must unlock and jackpot all three secret tickets, then claim the Final Chance sequence for the True Ending once again. This intricate route rewards the dedicated with a special finale and achievement, rounding out the full Scritchy Scratchy experience.
- Complete all challenges in the game.
- Start a new normal run and progress toward the end.
- Meet the requirements for the secret catalogue. A phone call introduces it when you reach the required stage and money threshold.
- Unlock all three tickets in the secret catalogue.
- Get a Jackpot on each of the three tickets.
- Get a Jackpot on the final ticket until the map showing only Claim appears.
- Take the phone call, then complete the Final Chance sequence as required for the True Ending.
- Claim the ticket and scratch the items that appear afterward.
This will unlock the secret ending and the No More Gambling achievement.

The challenge system adds layers of variety, with nine different scenarios to complete. Each challenge changes the rules, forcing you to tweak your usual strategies. Progress on challenges earns you achievements like Challenge Apprentice , Challenge Novice , and ultimately Challenge Master , which requires conquering all challenges.
The challenge update has added three achievements:
- Challenge Apprentice: Complete one challenge.
- Challenge Novice: Complete five challenges.
- Challenge Master: Complete every challenge.
There are nine challenges that you need to complete. For each challenge, the rules change, so the same strategy will not always work for all of them.
The Student Loans challenge demands earning $50K while juggling three loans that increase ticket prices and reduce your earnings by 30%. You also face random cheap tickets or plates instead of what you actually buy, and can’t use the Trash Can, so careful ticket selection and patience are essential.
Goal: Earn $50K while dealing with three loans.
You will start without permanent upgrades or skills. The loans will make the tickets more expensive, reduce rewards by 30%, and give you a one-in-five chance of receiving a cheaper ticket than the one you purchased or getting a plate.
You also cannot use the Trash Can, even if you buy it.
