When it comes to remaking a beloved classic like Persona 4, the voice cast can make or break the player’s connection to the characters. Atlus West recently revealed the new voices behind the game’s starting party, grabbing attention across the fandom as players gear up for the release. This shift in talent marks a significant change from the original, setting a fresh tone for the upcoming Persona 4 Revival.
None of the original voice actors are returning for this remake, which means these new actors have big shoes to fill. The focus so far has been on the game’s starting four party members plus Marie, who will be getting a new voice in this chapter of the series.
- Protagonist/Yu Narukami – Nazeeh Tarsha
- Yosuke – Paul Castro Jr.
- Chie – Anne Yatco
- Yukiko – Briana Knickerbocker
- Marie – Ari Thrash
Paul Castro Jr. will be familiar to players who followed Persona 3, as he previously lent his voice to Nozomi Suemitsu in that game.
It's worth noting that only these five voice roles have been announced so far, leaving the rest of the cast under wraps. Nazeeh Tarsha, stepping into the role of the protagonist, addressed fan reactions on social media, acknowledging the challenge of succeeding such iconic performances.
These are the only currently revealed voice actors for the game, it is currently unknown who will be playing the rest of the cast. Nazeeh Tarsha, who will be voicing the protagonist, tweeted the following statement.
“For the elephant in the room: my cast and I stand on the shoulders of giants. We all grew up on monumental and iconic performances and the amount of respect we have toward our predecessors cannot be overstated. Truthfully, I know that this news comes to the chagrin of many and I would be lying if I said I haven’t been nervous about this reveal. I want to make it clear that I see myself solely as an iteration. Johnny will forever be my and many people’s GOAT and I can only hope to aspire to his greatness. I did my best to do right by both him as well as the fandom. At the end of the day, I know that not everyone will be happy, and that’s okay. I just hope that you give us a chance and know that I am grateful if in the end that is all you do.”
Persona 4 Revival is set to launch on February 18, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows, promising a fresh take not only on its gameplay and visuals but also on its voice acting, which will shape how players experience this updated journey through Inaba.
