Duskfade immediately draws attention with its vast array of collectibles, and none more so than the Ancient Coins. These cryptic coins pepper every level and encourage a return trip once you've nabbed key abilities later in your journey. Their mystery doesn't fully unfold until deep into the game, offering a compelling reason to revisit familiar sights armed with new powers.

All Ancient Coin Locations in Duskfade

There are 48 Ancient Coins in total, outnumbering every other collectible in Duskfade. Once you've cleared the third world, you can trade these coins for unique trading cards at N1C0’s shop located in the Desert section of Tick Town. Each coin unlocks a distinct card, so gathering them all completes your collection without duplicates.

Below is a comprehensive list of every Ancient Coin, organized by the stage in which they appear.

Tick Town Ancient Coins

Ancient Coin 1

This coin remains out of reach until after obtaining the Pendulum in the Apprentice’s Wing stage. Once you’ve got the Pendulum, head to the Hills section in Tick Town to claim this first collectible.

Ancient Coin 2

Accessible only after acquiring the Sundial from the Celestial Kingdom stage, this coin is placed high on a balcony. Use the small grind rail near the entrance to the Hills section to launch yourself up and grab it.

Ancient Coin 3

You’ll need the Sundial again to reach this coin, nestled in a small alcove right next to the Deepthrone entrance.

Ancient Coin 4

Back with the Sundial, this final coin in the Sea section of Tick Town is earned by riding the grind rail beside the Blacksmith. It catapults you to a balcony that holds the last collectible of this area.

Erazus Forest Ancient Coins

Ancient Coin 1

This coin becomes available only after you pick up the Stopwatch from the Clockwork Academy stage. Near the end of Erazus Forest, a purple door accessible with the Stopwatch opens to a brief platforming challenge, rewarding you with the coin.

Ancient Coin 2

After you get the Sundial, make your way back to the town at Erazus Forest's entrance. Grind across the rooftop at the center of town to reach a hidden area with this coin tucked away.

Ancient Coin 3

You’ll need the Wings obtained in Clockmaker’s Rest before returning here. Grind off the central rooftop in the opposite direction and then glide with your wings to a balcony holding a chest that contains the coin.

Scorched Grove Ancient Coins

Ancient Coin 1

Grab the Grappling Hook from Starstone Mines before this one’s possible. Head back to Scorched Grove’s starting area and find a grapple point on the right side; it’ll fling you to a platform with a chest harboring this coin.

Ancient Coin 2

After getting the Pendulum in Apprentice’s Wing, revisit the fast travel point in Scorched Grove. Just outside, a buried chest awaits that can be opened with a Pendulum attack, revealing this coin.

Ancient Coin 3

This coin can mislead you since it seems reachable with just the Stopwatch, but you also need the Pendulum. Using both, start from Scorched Grove’s fast travel point, follow the main path, then take the left path. Navigate a challenging grappling course dotted with checkpoints and fights. Midway, a Stopwatch-locked purple door leads to a short platforming section demanding both Grappling Hook and Pendulum skills, at the end of which you’ll claim the coin.

The combination of grappling and pendulum mechanics is key here, rewarding precision and timing as you push forward through the level’s combat and environment challenges.

Starstone Mines Ancient Coins

Ancient Coin 1

Close to the stage exit, this coin requires some aerial skill — double jump twice and perform a mid-air dodge to reach it.

Ancient Coin 2

This coin is hidden inside a buried chest near the first checkpoint in Starstone Mines. You’ll only get the Music Box here after acquiring the Pendulum from Apprentice’s Wing, so return once you have it and look for a chest obscured by orange crystals beneath a large stone arch.

Ancient Coin 3

Once the Sundial has been obtained, return to the Starstone Mines’ fast travel room and use the grind rail circling it to reach a distant platform. A chest here contains this coin.

Mount Cinder Ancient Coins

Ancient Coin 1

After the first checkpoint, jump across platforms with spinning flames. Look left of the third platform for a small ledge holding this coin.

Ancient Coin 2

Requires the Pendulum again. Near the Mount Cinder fast travel room, find a buried chest on the left side of the giant spinning gear room.

Ancient Coin 3

After gaining Wings in Clockmaker’s Rest, fly through boost rings near the Mount Cinder fast travel balcony. Defeat all enemies in the ensuing combat arena to claim this coin.

Meridian Village Ancient Coins

Ancient Coin 1

With the Sundial, return to Meridian Village’s fast travel area. Grind off the giant sundial in the center, then grapple onto balloons to launch yourself onto a platform holding this coin.

Ancient Coin 2

Fly through boost rings at the end of Meridian Village, once you have the Wings, to reach a platform with this coin.
