Doloc Town Fishing Guide - All Fish Locations

TheGamesEdgeAugust 8, 20262 min read

Fishing in Doloc Town strikes a balance between challenge and accessibility, with its scattered water pools making each cast an adventure. Its not your typical linear fishing experience—finding certain prized catches like the Golden Fish or Koi means knowing exactly where to cast and when. These nuances add layers to fishing, turning it into a memorable part of your Doloc Town journey.

The Basics of Fishing

Seasonal Cycle. Doloc Town operates on a calendar of four seasons, each lasting 28 days:

#Season
1Light Rain
2Heavy Rain
3Early Dry
4Harsh Dry

Weather Conditions Critical for Fishing: Sunny, Cloudy, Rainy, Thunderstorm, Windy, Acid Rain, and Scorching Sun all influence what fish you can catch.

Time of Day: The day spans from 06:00 to 18:59, and night runs from 19:00 to 05:59. While most fish do not care about time, Catfish and Pike require specific hours to bite.

Fishing Rods and Requirements: Each fish demands a minimum rod tier. If your rod class is below that, it simply wont bite.

RodTierAvailability
Basic Fishing Rod0Old Fisherman's shop at the Dock
Old Fishing Rod1Given free by Old Fisherman during the intro
Bamboo Fishing Rod2Old Fisherman's shop
Fiberglass Fishing Rod3Paiea's shop at Kon-Tiki
Carbon Fiber Fishing Rod4Paiea's shop at Kon-Tiki

Most fish require no more than a tier 2 rod, making the Bamboo Fishing Rod a must-have for completion. Higher-tier rods such as Fiberglass and Carbon Fiber mainly ease the fishing minigame mechanics rather than unlock fish.

Additional Useful Gear

  • Lucky Fishhook increases your chance to catch two fish at once. You can earn it by completing the Kon-Tiki "Special Fish Survey" mission or buy it from Paiea.
  • Fishbowl Hat is a unique cosmetic item obtainable only by fishing in a secret wetland location.

Energy Consumption: Each cast costs 10 energy, so planning your fishing trip with energy management in mind is crucial.

Reading the Fishing Spots

There are exactly 20 fishing pools spread across Doloc Town. The type of fish you catch depends entirely on which pool you use, so understanding each location's specifics is key to targeting rare fish.

Two numbers define each fishing pool's characteristics:

  • Junk Rate: the percentage chance your catch will be trash rather than a fish.
  • Rarity Weights: these determine how likely each fish rarity tier (from R0 common to R4 very rare) is to appear.

The default rarity distribution is R0: 45%, R1: 25%, R2: 15%, R3: 10%, and R4: 5%.
