In Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, players face a tense and rewarding challenge unlocking the fate of Queen Eleanor through the mysterious mirror seals. These seals serve as critical checkpoints, combining exploration and combat in a way that tests your timing and skill under pressure. Understanding where and how to break these seals can turn what feels like a frustrating grind into a satisfying progression milestone.
Saving Queen Eleanor is no small feat. You’ll traverse through treacherous environments, locate four distinctive seals, and clear waves of enemies that test your combat abilities. Taking the right approach here not only eases the difficulty but enhances the narrative impact of your journey through the castle.
How to Break the Mirror Seals in Belmont’s Curse
Each mirror seal begins with finding special mirrors marked with a glowing blue seal similar to those encircling Queen Eleanor’s mirror. When you kneel before one, you’ll be transported to the hall of mirrors where the real trial begins.
The blue seal marking the mirrors you must interact with.
Four distinct blue seals surround Queen Eleanor’s mirror, each representing a location you’ll visit.
Inside the hall, a magical crystal hangs above the mirror. Jump to attack it and trigger an arena fight. Survive and defeat all enemies that spawn. Completing this fight breaks the seal. Kneel again to return to the main world and continue your quest.
All 4 Mirror Seal Locations in Belmont’s Curse
Locating all four seals is critical. Each holds a key part of the story and combat challenge you need to overcome.
Mirror Seal 1: Paris Streets — Prison Tower
The first mirror seal awaits you on the streets of Paris. It’s tucked near the Prison Tower, a place oftentimes marked by the ominous presence of fallen enemies.
Using the Fallen as a landmark to find the Prison Tower mirror seal.
The seal here matches the bottom-right seal displayed around Eleanor’s mirror.
This fight is intense, featuring enemies such as Skeleton archers, multiple Skeleton soldiers, Gargoyles, Peeping Eye, Bone pillars, and a duo of Hellhounds.
The combined onslaught of two hellhounds makes this arena especially challenging. Taking out the Gargoyles first eases the pressure, followed by the soldiers and the Skeleton archer. When the Peeping Eye and Bone pillars arrive, prioritize the Peeping Eye to avoid interruptions in your combos. The last wave includes two werewolves and a Gargoyle; finish the Gargoyle quickly then unleash aggressive attacks on the werewolves to close the fight.
Mirror Seal 2: Main Hall — Archives
The second mirror seal is located in the Archives within the Main Hall, a place filled with lurking enemies.
Prepare to face Axe Knight, Axe and Shield Knight, Skeleton soldier, Ectoplasm, and a Hellhound in this arena.
This battle unfolds in phases. Use precise aggression and parries to take down the knights first. The second phase demands focus on quickly eliminating the Skeleton soldier and Hellhound before tackling the Ectoplasm, to minimize chaos on the battlefield.
Mirror Seal 3: Clock Tower — Mechanic’s Ascent
Reach the third seal by ascending the Clock Tower’s elaborate Mechanic’s Ascent level.
This fight features two Winged Lance Knights, a Skeleton archer, a Ruler Sword wielder, two Hellhounds, and an Ice Shade.
Control the battlefield by luring the Winged Lance Knights to one side, then dispatch them in quick succession. Eliminate the Skeleton archer and Ruler Sword wielder—if you have the Soul Harvest ability equipped on the Ruler Sword, now’s the time to use it. Push through the Hellhounds aggressively to survive.
Mirror Seal 4: Notre-Dame — East Gallery
The final mirror seal lies within Notre-Dame’s East Gallery, a sprawling and dangerous environment that tests your combat patience.
Enemies include Skeleton Soldier, Skeleton Archer, Gargoyle, Axe Knight, Axe and Shield Knight, Harpy, and a Golem.
The first wave is manageable with a few well-placed combos. The second wave brings in the knights and a Harpy; focus fire on the Harpy first to remove her disruption, then dispatch the unshielded knight followed by the shielded one. The Golem arrives last—this fight is a test of patience. Dodge his slow but powerful attacks carefully, and time your strikes for openings.
What Happens After Breaking All Four Mirror Seals?
Once all seals are broken, return to where you first encountered Eleanor. A cutscene unfolds showing her kidnapping and the shattering of the seals on her mirror. Kneeling once more sends you into the hall of mirrors for the climax of this segment.
The hall is confusing, but at the end, you face the temptress who initially disguises herself as Sypha. The deception fails, Rose reveals her true form, leading straight into a decisive battle.
Defeating the temptress rewards you with her tarot card and vital information to find Eleanor, who waits in the Holy Innocents’ Cemetery, setting up the next key stage of your journey.
