Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game offers a rich roster, but most players quickly notice that two key fighters, **Avatar Aang** and **Nightmare Korra**, start locked. Cracking their unlock conditions is worth the effort—these characters bring unique flair and moves that change the pace of battles across local and online versus modes.
Unlocking **Avatar Aang** and **Nightmare Korra** revolves around progressing through the game's story mode. Thankfully, you don’t need to complete all twenty-five chapters to gain access to them; each unlocks at distinct milestones, giving you a taste of these hidden fighters early on.
To get your hands on **Nightmare Korra**, push forward through the story until you reach the first fight of Chapter 6. Here you’ll face Korra’s eerie nightmare form. Overcome this challenge and the game rewards you by unlocking this character for all game modes.
It’s worth noting that **Nightmare Korra** plays almost identically to her standard version. The main differences lie in her visual style, idle animations, and the passive buffs available before matches, making her more of an aesthetic and tactical variation rather than a brand-new moveset.
For those eager to unlock **Avatar Aang**, you’ll need to advance further to Chapter 11's first battle. Here, you confront Aang in his Avatar State while battling within the spirit world. Defeating this version of Aang grants you access to him for all your battles.
Unlike Nightmare Korra, **Avatar Aang** offers a truly different fighting experience. His unique moveset includes combos that launch him into the air, requiring some practice to master but rewarding players with dynamic aerial play and elemental control.
If you're itching to skip ahead, there’s a hidden cheat code to unlock both characters immediately without playing through the story. From the main menu, press the Select button while highlighting the following options in exact order: Arcade Mode Training Mode Local VS Online VS
Successfully inputting this sequence triggers a distinctive sound and unlocks both **Avatar Aang** and **Nightmare Korra** instantly, letting you jump into fights with these fighters without delay.
Unlike Nightmare Korra, Avatar Aang is a completely different character from normal Aang with his own moveset and everything. He can be quite difficult to get a hang of as many of his attacks will send him flying into the air mid-combo.
