Character Profile

As the favored son of the last Long Clan patriarch, Long Wu was widely anticipated to guide his clan to unprecedented heights. Yet treacherous rivalries are an enduring curse among noble houses, and despite his unmatched intellect and martial brilliance, he was ultimately swallowed by the inexorable tides of history.

Ability Profile

Blessed with peerless swordcraft from birth, Long Wu eschewed the clan's trademark barrage of slender golden sword-qi. Instead, he forged a stripped-down, decisive style built to end duels in a single devastating strike—silent until the moment it shocks the world.

Wielding the lavish, awe-inspiring Imperial Zenith Sword—a blade radiating the majesty of a true dragon—Long Wu innovated a devastating personal ultimate. By flooding the sword with Sha-Qi, he summons a colossal golden blade overhead that crashes down onto the victim's crown. The strike shatters all guard, while its overwhelming draconic aura paralyzes foes with utter despair, compelling them to accept death without resistance.

Still, Long Wu prized systemic momentum and tactical positioning above brute skill; the lethal technique was merely born of a fleeting impulse, one he believed he might never unleash in his lifetime—until that fateful, rain-swept night...

Background & History

The fifth son of the Long clan, Long Wu possessed preternatural brilliance. From combat mastery to tradecraft and statecraft, his boundless gifts left no doubt that he was destiny's true heir to lead the family.

Long Wu favored weighty, crushing golden sword-qi, bonding over shared sparring sessions with his fourth elder brother, Long Lie. Yet tragedy took root in Long Wu’s blinding brilliance. As the elders lavished praise and attention solely on the rapidly ascending prodigy, Long Lie’s diligent toil went entirely unnoticed, brewing a bitter resentment that ultimately drove the brothers apart.

As an adult, Long Wu's renown soared. Outwardly, he was courteous, tactful, and deeply respectful toward talent, pairing affable grace with brilliant strategic pragmatism. Inwardly, he had Long Mingyu—a peerless Long Clan swordsman and his childhood study partner—as his sworn confidant. Cherished by his father, Clan Patriarch Long Tairan, Long Wu watched clan favor and wealth steadily channeled toward his future.

His birth name had long ceased to matter. Across the Jianghu, people revered him—willingly or not—as 'Lord Long Wu.' Everyone believed that one day, he would rightfully receive the Golden Dragon Token from the old patriarch, granting him absolute command over the entire Long clan.

Long Wu was never blinded by endless praise. Knowing full well that his siblings among the "Nine Sons of Long" would never tolerate him rising above them, he quietly plotted contingencies to survive whatever sudden betrayal might come.

One year, Long Wu rescued a master swordsman who swore undying fealty in gratitude. Moved by his devotion, Long Wu bestowed upon him the name "Qilin Ke", subsequently relocating them into seclusion at a private retreat in Baihe Town, situated north of Xinglong Manor.

Long Wu demanded only one oath from the Qilin Guest: should someone ever arrive at the gates carrying the Golden Dragon Token and a swaddled infant, the guest must help raise Long Wu's son and follow him to restore the Long Clan to glory.

Upon reaching adulthood, Long Wu wed the daughter of Grand Scholar Gongsun of the Imperial Court—Gongsun XiaofengWhile born of a calculated pact between the Long and Gongsun clans, the marriage of Long Wu and Gongsun Xiaofeng defied the tragedy of typical political unions. Though romantic spark was absent, their bond ran deeper as kindred spirits sharing a grand destiny: to reshape the martial realm with their own hands.

Perhaps everything Long Wu presented to the outside world was just a guise worn to realize his soaring ambitions. Although the Long clan reigned supreme among the righteous sects, they were constantly opposed in the north by the Dark Devil Citadel, the undisputed vanguard of the demonic path whose lord—Mo Tian's formidable might even rivaled Long Mingyuevenly matched. Compounding this, a shadowy new faction known as 'The Order' boldly sought to dictate its own code across the martial world. Internally, cutthroat intrigue raged among the nine scions of the Long clan, fanning flames of discord.

Against this blazing backdrop of hollow, ostentatious "prosperity," the Long family maintained its ironclad facade of leadership over the entire martial world.

Year 10 of the Order,Long TairanFollowing the patriarch's sudden, suspicious demise without a will, tensions among the nine sons of the Long clan quickly boiled over. In response, Long Wu stepped forward to claim temporary custody of the Golden Dragon Token while explicitly declining the succession. Relocating from the ancestral manor to his own Xinglong Villa, he vowed alongside his confidant Long Mingyu to pursue the investigation into his father's death, refusing to take the clan's mantle until the full truth was brought to light.

In Year 11 of the Order, Gongsun Xiaofeng became pregnant and bore a son the following year. While Long Wu rejoiced at gaining another trump card, escalating tensions compelled him to keep his child's existence hidden from the world.

Shortly after the child was born, Anmo Tianbao was annihilated overnight by "The Order," leaving no survivors behind. Long Er seized the chaos to conspire with The Order on a diversionary plot, intentionally leaking clues about Long Tairan's death to lure Long Mingyu away from Xinglong Manor.

On a rainy night soon after, Long Two, Long Four, and Long Nine paid an unexpected visit to Xinglong Manor. Mid-conversation, all three drew their blades as Long Two's hidden assassins stormed the grounds to slaughter the household. Fighting to his last breath, Long Five managed to smuggle his only child to safety before dying alongside his wife to take Long Two and the ambushers down with them.

Perished alongside their foes—after having servants spirit their young son away to safety, this final, mutual destruction was the last act of protection Lord Long the Fifth and his wife could offer their child.

Where will the Jianghu head in the days to come? Having schemed for half his life, Long Wu will never live to see the final outcome.
